Smart Drive shaft type 1 and 2
Type 1, is normally used on the 100s, 80s, and 60s Smart Drive series and the type 2 on the 60S-dc series. The type 2 shaft has a 12mm internal thread in place of the 12mm external thread on the type 1. The shafts are interchangeable but the rotor for the 60S-dc Smart Drive fits only the type 2. It can be made to fit on the type 1, by cutting out the plastic retaining screw and fitting the extractor knob. The internal thread on the type 2 shafts can prove useful in some applications.
