Aluminium 2 core twisted pair 25mm2/conductor comes in 250m rolls. Perfect for long run hydro and wind application at 120/48/28/12 vdc applications for both off-grid and grid-tied applications. To lay directly on the ground or buried in the ground for applications up to 120 vdc. This cable is the best buy for long runs and serious power generation.

Each 250m run can deliver the following Watts at about 10% loss

A single run of this cable is suitable for our 48 vdc Smart 500 wind turbine at 250m away.
A single run of this cable is suitable for our 28 vdc Smart 800 wind turbine at 125m away.
A 400W hydro at 500m away at 48 vdc would need 2 cable runs.
A 800W hydro at 500m away at 48 vdc would need 4 cable runs.
As a rule of thumb for 8-10% loss for long runs using this cable:
Size in mm2 approx = current in cable (amps) x length (m) / 100
Divide this by 0.6 for aluminium wire
So for example 1700W at 56 vdc at 125m long is 1700/56 = 30.4 amps
Cable size = 30.4 x 125 / (100) = 38 mm2 copper or 63mm2 aluminium
